Summer Events

ADHA 85th Annual Session at  the  Albuquerque Convention Center June 22 to 25. FNDC at Gaylord Palms Resort  in Orlando June 12 to 14.

Unique Summer Opportunity

Looking for a unique opportunity to share your knowledge of preventive dentistry with physicians and their staff this summer? The University of Florida is searching for a selected group of hygienists  to help educate members of the medical community in the South Florida area who provide services to deserving Medicaid patients.  See NEWS for employment details and letter from Dr. Frank Catanotto.

Volunteers needed for School Health Conference for the Brevard County School System

The conference will be held Monday, Sept. 15th, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Satellite High School and Delaura Junior High in Satellite Beach.  We've consistently been the only representation for dental health at the conference.  If you can work a two hour shift, either 8:00-10:00 am or 10:00 am-noon, please contact Connie Maltby at 321-639-6456 or dcmaltby@earthlink.net.  We have a table with donated oral health supplies and we give them out to educators along with oral health information and dental hygiene promotion.  Please consider joining in!.

Help fight Preceptorship and donate to  HYPAC

Hygiene Political Action Committee (HYPAC) hosted a silent auction on September 28, 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the FDHA Annual Session. Show your support to your profession by donating money,  no matter how small. The funds raised by the HYPAC auction support the legislative aims of FDHA. Find out more about the HYPAC Auction and Florida Dental Association's attempts to get preceptorship passed in our state in the Newsletter.

Did you know that licensure requirements can change for the biennium..

Don't be caught off guard for the renewal deadline.  The biennium's continuing education requirements have changed. You can view the new list of required courses and hours needed by checking out the Florida Department of Dentistry Continuing Education web page.  Remember that CE Broker will be flagging down health professionals who do not fulfill requirements.

Help the men and women of our armed forces this summer by clicking on anysoldier.com, which provides wish lists to help these brave individuals.
