Space Coast Volunteers in Medicine looking for RDH and other Dental Volunteers
Brevard County Dental Hygiene Association

Greetings fellow Dental Hygienists,

My name is Irene Theriault. I am a retired DH and I am a volunteer for the Space Coast Volunteers in Medicine (SCVIM) in Palm Bay.

We are a completely volunteer organization, staffing a free medical and a free dental clinic here in Brevard County. This clinic is for adults between the ages of 19-65 who have no other insurances and who are within the poverty guidelines of the Dept of Health.

We are currently setting up the Dental side of the clinic and we are in dire need of dental professionals, Dentists, Hygienists ,Assistants and Receptionists. Volunteers are certified by the Dept of Health and are covered by Sovereign Immunity. Some care will be given in house but if the provider prefers, care can be given in their own office after qualifying.

I would appreciate it if you could spread the message of our need to all your members.

What we are looking for are volunteers who can give a morning, an afternoon, a full day, once a week or once a month. At this time we would like to utilize hygienists for Oral care instruction and dental wellness, as many of our patients are medically compromised.

Anyone interested can call me at 321-327-3423, email me at iftscvim@gmail.com , visit our clinic at 1460 Baytree Dr, Palm Bay, FL  or register on line at Space Coast Volunteers in medicine.org.

We would also love donations of any usable equipment, extra toothpaste, brushes, educational aides etc. All our equipment so far has been donated.

Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us get this clinic off the ground. There is such a great need for dental care in this county. Almost half of the patients calling in for help are in need of Dentistry.

I look forward to hearing from you.
